The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in Panaji has released the provisional timetable for the 2025 Class X and XII public exams. According to the schedule, the Class XII exam is expected to take place from Feb 1 to 15, 2025, while the Class X exam is scheduled for March 1 to 20 next year. The board has advanced the exam schedule by approximately 28 days in response to rising temperatures caused by global warming. This decision was made earlier in the year to ensure that exams are held earlier to alleviate any discomfort students may face in hot weather. Board Chairperson Bhagirath Shetye mentioned that during the 2024 exams, some students experienced uneasiness due to the heat, leading to the decision to move the exams earlier from 2025 onwards. All exams will be completed before March 31 and results will be declared by the end of April. This decision was taken after incidents of students fainting or experiencing symptoms like vomiting during the exams last year. The new schedule aligns with national timelines and that of other central and state boards.
